Steven Rinehart is a registered patent attorney licensed before the State of Utah, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the US Patent and Trademark Office.

He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah College of Law in 2003.  He studied Computer Science, Naval Science and English as an undergraduate, graduating from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah in 2000. Before becoming a lawyer, Steve founded and sold several Internet companies, including eWatches.com and PrizeWise.com, which both grossed over $1 million in revenue during their first years in business.  Steven also founded theopticon.com, a free legal file exchange. 

Steven has prepared and prosecuted over 200 patent applications and over 150 trademark applications.  Steven regularly files patent applications on mechanical, elecrical and software inventions, with experience borth writing and litigating these patents.  Steven has also handled over 120 UDRP domain name disputes, winning more than two-thirds of those he has handled.  Steven regularly handles patent and trademark litigation in US district courts, including in rem Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA) actions in Virginia.  Steven is the only attorney to own and have been approved as an ICANN-accredited as domain name registrar (that registrar being Domain Train).  Steven has handled matters before the PTAB (Patent Trial and Appeal Board) and TTAB (Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) as well as over 100 lawsuits in state and federal courts, including patent infringement matters in federal courts in Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Florida, Virginia and California.

Steven has helped clients sell domain names for more than $1 million, and can help venture capitalists and creditors perfect security interests in domain names using UCC-1 Financing Statements.
